This project is a search for 'superplanets' around selected pre-main sequence stars in I band using Planetary Camera II. The superplanets will be detected in their intrinsic thermal radiation. The detectability factors are stellar age and spectral type, and mass and semi-major orbital axis of the superplanet. Because of the superb peak-to-wing ratio of its point spread function after spherical aberration is corrected, HST is uniquely capable of performing this survey and determining the statistical occurrence of superplanets.
