Spectroscopic observations carried out at CTIO and La Silla of two regular, elliptically dominated, rich Abell clusters with central cD galaxies are presented. Velocity dispersions of 657 (+ 104, - 72) km/s for A496, and 576 (+ 83, - 60) km/s for A2052 are derived. Some of the consequences of these values for the proposed interpretations of the X-ray characteristics of both clusters are briefly discussed.
