We analyze the correlation function of QSO absorbers on intermediate scales (from 1 to about 20 comoving Mpc), using an extensive catalog of heavy--element QSO absorption line systems. We find that the correlation function is quite similar in form to that of normal galaxies. We trace the evolution of the correlation function, for redshifts z ~ 3 and less, and discuss the implications for cosmology and growth of structure via gravitational instability.
