In April 2007 a small ``Lessons Learned from VSOP'' meeting was held in Hakone to review the lessons from the past and to transfer the knowledge and experience gained from the VSOP Mission to future space missions, to VSOP-2 in particular. This talk addresses various issues associated with the formation and operation of the VSOP International Science Council (the VISC), the Key Science Program (KSP) Teams and the VSOP Science Operations Group (the VSOG).
