We present infrared images of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC)taken by the infrared telescope on board the Midcourse Space Experiment (MSX). We compare MSX radiometer band A (6 - 11 microns ) images to the IRAS 12 microns image from the ISSA plates. The resolution of the MSX images is about 0.3 arcmin, compared to about 5 arcmin for the IRAS Sky Survey Atlas (ISSA) images. The primary feature in the 12 microns ISSA image of the SMC is a diffuse ring of emission. MSX resolves this ring into numerous individual point sources. The SMC is a region of high source density, and due to confusion problems was not included in the IRAS Faint Source Catalog. The IRAS Point Source Catalog (PSC) lists 120 objects in the region covered by the MSX observation. With the superior resolution of the MSX instrument we are able to extract over twice as many point sources in this field. We also compare the MSX image to a full resolution (about 0.25 by 1.5 arcmin) image constructed from raw IRAS scans.
