The detection of rapid microlensing, presumably originating in the lens galaxy of the Q0957+561 A,B system, has been announced in the June 1996 Astronomical Journal. The existence of rapid microlensing has now been confirmed from data taken at 3 observatories during March 1996 and posted on the World-Wide-Web. A presumed microlensing event with amplitude .08 mag and duration 20 days was recorded.
