In this paper results of ore microscopical observations on the suevites of Ries (south Germany) and Bosumtwi (Ghana) are discussed. In the Ries suevites the author observed besides a little kamacite two different types of troilite probably representing generations which have been formed at different times. For the first time Fe-Ti ore minerals which have been neglected in earlier publications are described. In the suevites the author found ilmenite, rutile, pseudobrookite and magnetite. Ilmenite occurs always as droplets while rutile and pseudobrookite show both droplets and crystalline grains. This indicates that the suevite of both craters has been formed at very high and super geologic temperatures. The occurrence of magnetite as well as the complete absence of free hematite supports this theory. According to the following observations both craters are products of meteoric impacts.
