A deep radio observation made at 1.472 GHz with the Australia Telescope Compact Array of the Durham/AAT QSO survey field QSF3, which has also previously been observed with ROSAT, is reported. At separations less than 15 arcsec, five associations between the faint X-ray and radio catalogs, compared to 2.3 expected by chance, were found. Thus only about 6 percent of the X-ray population at these flux levels exhibit radio emission at greater than 125 micro-Jy. The weak correlation between the positions of the radio and the X-ray sources indicates that the star-forming galaxies identified in deep radio surveys do not constitute a major fraction of the soft X-ray population at flux levels greater than 5 x 10 exp -15 erg/s sq cm.
