The effects of evolution and birth-rate on the distribution of magnetic
cataclysmic variables into various subclasses are investigated using
Monte Carlo simulations. Our simulations indicate the possibility that
AM Herculis systems and intermediate polars might follow different
evolutionary scenarios.
