Analysis of various anomalous spectra of developed cool stars shows that these spectra can largely be accounted for by anomalous chemical compositions of the atmospheres of the stars. The means of transport of burning products to the outer layers is still undetermined. Abundance anomalies in S-stars and cool C-stars can be attributed to the operating of neutron processes corresponding to the Ne-22 mechanism.
