It has been previously shown that the the growth of a baryonic component in a triaxial dark matter halo causes the halo to become axisymmetric. We use Laskar's frequency mapping technique to obtain frequency maps that elucidate the phase space structure of N-body simulations of triaxial dark matter halos in which baryonic disks are grown. We find that the growth of a baryonic disk inside a dark matter halo, results in the appearance of strong global resonances in phase space. A surprisingly large fraction of halo orbits (between 25-30%) become chaotic but interestingly most of these chaotic orbits are associated with resonances and therefore do not undergo chaotic mixing. We discuss the implications of these findings both for direct dark matter dection experiments as well as for upcoming studies of the stellar halo.
