We present high angular resolution X-ray images from Chandra HRC-I observations of the X-ray jet in the nearby radio galaxy Centaurus A (NGC5128). Since the HRC data does not have spectral resolution, we chose a monochromatic or monoenergetic energy of 1.5 KeV as it is in a range which corresponds to the temperature of the jets and this also removes much of the strong emission from the heavily absorbed X-ray nucleus without compromising the soft emission from the jet. We find that the X-ray emission from the jet is composed of a low surface brightness diffuse component extending continuously from within at least 50 pc of the active nucleus into the NE radio lobe 3 Kpc from the nucleus, along with a dozen discrete compact knots. We find that there are small differences between the X-ray and radio morphologies on the inner jet at the arcsec level which might be due to the fact that there are two different populations of relativistic electrons responsible from the radio and X-ray emissions.
