The propagation of X-ray frequency waves in a plasma with an extremely strong magnetic field (approximately 1 trillion G) is considered. Vacuum polarization and thermal effects are included, as are first order quantum corrections. Approximate analytic solutions are given for the refractive index and polarization vectors, and the exact numerical solution is displayed. The temperature above which the modes no longer cross at resonance is determined as a function of angle.
