A survey was made of quasars in a strip of 5 deg declination in the southern hemisphere. Quasars with redshifts greater than 2.5 are clumped on the sky in groups of two or more objects; the quasars within each spatial group have nearly the same redshifts ranging from 2.6 to 3.2. The apparent magnitudes of NGC 55, NGC 300, and NGC 1316 quasars are considerably brighter than the quasars of lower redshift. In general, these quasars show spatial groupings confirmed by similarities of the properties of the quasars within each grouping; this clumping is on a scale which is irreconcilable at conventional redshift distances but these quasars are associated with bright nearby galaxies
