Regularities are noted in the experimental Stark widths of nonresonance lines belonging to the homologous sequences C II, Si II, Ge II, Sn II, Pb II, and N II, P II . . . Bi II. Similarities between structure-related trends in line strengths and in Stark widths are examined. Distinctions are seen between broadening trends for resonance lines and nonresonance lines.
