The effective temperature of the short period cepheid SU Cas has been determined from a comparison of its spectral scans with appropriate model atmospheres. Using this temperature and an independent Wesselink radius determination, the luminosity of the star has been redetermined. The pulsation mass and the evolutionary mass of the star have been discussed. The evolutionary to pulsation mass ratio comes out to be greater than unity.
