Plasma processes which can take place behind shock fronts corresponding to massive (greater than 3 x 10 to the 14th solar masses) protoclusters are investigated. It is shown that electron heat conduction can have a pronounced effect on the temperature behind the fronts. The evolution of the magnetic field in such protoclusters is in essence determined by thermal effects and not by hydrodynamic motions. The development of thermomagnetic instability in the plasma of protoclusters is investigated. It is shown that it can result in a rapid fragmentation of the protoclusters into protogalaxies. It is pointed out that the resulting protogalaxies will have both angular momentum and an initial magnetic field.
