The paper reports on the observation and orbit improvement of minor planet (115) Thyra. In the preceding perihelion opposition 76 photographic observations were made at Wiesbaden and Siegen observatories. From altogether 446 observations during 1871-1979, of which many of the earlier ones were newly reduced, an orbit improvement was carried out. The final orbit represents the observations during this time span within a mean error of less than 3 seconds of arc, a considerable improvement over earlier results. The resulting orbital elements may provide a certain basis for accurate ephemerides or predictions of occultations, so that also osculating elements for the next hundred years are given.
