A method is proposed for the approximate solution of the equations of optical pumping describing the Hanle effect, based on the property of weak anisotropy of the exiting light, in quiescent solar prominences. The polarization characteristics of the emission of a prominence as a function of the magnitude and direction of the magnetic field are calculated on He triplet transitions. The influence of the trapping of resonance radiation on the polarization of the ensemble of emitting atoms is analyzed.
