We have carried out continuum observations towards the O-type stars HD94963 [O6.5III((f))], HD97253 [O5.5III((f))n], HD101205 [O7.0III((f))n], Hd112244 [O8.5Iab(f)] and HD124314 [O6.5V((f))(n)]. The observations were taken with the ATCA at two frequencies: 4.8 and 8.64 GHz (HPBW: 2-3 arcsec), in order to estimate the mass loss rates. We report the detection of HD124314 (d = 1.1 kpc) with fluxes S(4.8) = 2.6 +/- 0.1 mJy and S(8.64) = 1.8+/- 0.1 mJy, unresolved at the two frequencies. The computed spectral index (alpha = 0.6) is consistent with thermal emission from an optically thick wind, and allow to estimate a mass loss rate of 2 x 10^{-5} M_sun/yr. This result is compared with previous mass loss rates values derived for other Of stars. For the rest of the stars at d > 1.5 kpc, we obtained upper limits of 1 x 10^{-6} M_sun/yr based on the rms of the radio images.
