We are interested in to study the atomic process taking place in the stellar envelopes. Particularly, we are studing the Dielectronic Recombination (DR) of metals. We started with the MgII atom and, although we had to do some approximations, the calculations did not present difficulties because of the simple atomic structure of MgII. Due to the astrophysical significance of Fe atom, we are very interested in to investigate the DR of FeII. Because of the more complicate structure of this ion, is not possible to work in the same way; therefore we are trying to introduce statistical methods in order to solve the problem. Statistical spectroscopy will allow us to consider the spectrum lines as a whole instead of the individual lines.
