This work presents the kinematic analysis of disconnection events (DEs) (Niedner and Brandt, 1979; Jockers, 1985; Celnik et al., 1988; Delva et al., 1991), that are determined assuming that in a given DE the disconnected plasma moves away from the nucleus at constant velocity (Voelzke and Matsuura, 1998) and compares this analysis with the another ones, that determined the time of disconnection assuming constantly accelerated linear motion (Yi et al., 1994). The distribution of the DEs in time or heliocentric distance presents a bimodal character possibly associated with the spatial distribution of the magnetic sector boundaries in the interplanetary medium. The velocity from one DE to another varies broadly.
