Based on monochromatic and continuum observations of the total solar eclipses of July 11 , 1991 and February 26 , 1998 , which ocurred nearly at maximum and minimum of solar activity respectively , a preliminary comparative analysis of the morphology of the corona during the totality is given. Also some examples of chromospheric plasma configura- rations observed during these eclipses are shown.
