Previously observed occasional double or multiple flashes at optical wavelengths from a source probably located close to the Galactic Center (GC) are tentatively linked with the burst X-ray source MXB 1743-293. Distributions of interarrival times are examined for light flashes recorded from the GC area of the sky and from a nearby (control) region; it is found that the flashes from the GC area tend to group more closely in time than would be expected from randomly distributed events. In addition, the time scale of the GC flashes is shown to be similar to that of multiple X-ray bursts from MXB 1743-293. The total optical energy for this source is estimated to be two orders of magnitude greater than the X-ray energy per burst, a ratio comparable to that observed for solar flares.
