A simple model of the nucleus of NGC 1275 is constructed, using constraints imposed by recent radio, infrared, optical, and X-ray observations. It is found that the magnetic field is so strong that it dominates the dynamics of the central region. Such a field might play an important role in establishing the observed common orientation of successive outbursts in this active galaxy.
