A multichannel theory is used to investigate free-free absorption by
electrons moving in the field of neutral nitrogen and oxygen atoms.
Tables of the free-free absorption coefficient are given for a range of
temperatures and frequencies, and include details of contributions from
various transitions involving ground-state terms.
