Based on the detection of photometric variations at a period of about 15 min the old nova RR Pic has recently been claimed to be an intermediate polar. An analysis of a large amount of photometric data did not confirm the permanent existence of this period; as far as this period range is concerned, the intermediate polar nature of this nova is not demonstrated.
