Scientific paper

A type III burst group event in solar microwave bursts observed with 2.6-3.8 GHz spectrometer of Beijing Astronomical Observatory (BAO) on April 15, 1998 are analyzed in this paper. First the observational characteristics of the event including duration, frequency bandwidth, drift rate and quasi-periodicity are described. Then the space scale, brightness temperature and magnetic field strength of the emission sources were discussed. Finally we discuss the quasi-periods of the type III burst group using the magnetic coalescence model preliminarily.
