Doppler shifts of the Na D1 line, averaged over large solar areas up to the whole sun, have been recorded with a sodium resonance device. The power spectra of the observed fluctuations show that (1) the 5-minute oscillation has an horizontal coherence of 35,000 km at the level of the sodium line formation; (2) the corresponding peak at 3.3 mHz is not predominant for scales greater than 5'. New oscillations appear with a 10-minute period.
