The present numerical calculation of moonlet or satellite gravitational influence on the radial structure of the Saturn rings notes a drastic surface mass density change in response to even a single scattering process of the ring particles on the orbiting body. The radial structure of the final surface density is used as the basis of mass and radius estimates for satellites or moonlets embedded in such low-optical-depth rings as the E and C rings and the Cassini division. Using a mean moonlet density of 1000 kg/cu m, an approximate relation between the width of the gaps and the radius of the moonlet can be obtained.
