NASA's Interstellar Boundary Explorer mission has been flying for over a year now, and has provided exciting new evidence for a structured interaction between the solar wind and the local interstellar medium. The IBEX instrumentation suite also enables direct observation of local interstellar neutral gas, which flows unimpeded into the solar system. We report here the constraints on parameters of local interstellar helium, and also comparisons of the measurements to models of the interaction of the heliosphere and the local interstellar neutrals. > >
