The ultraviolet and optical photometric data for 68 normal galaxies were combined to derive their colour indices. The analysis of these indices indicates that the galaxies of this sample belong to two different groups. The spectral differences seem to be connected to differences in metallicity within the central regions of the objects. The galaxies of these groups differ also in their location in space.
