The equation of motion of a one-dimensional oscillator is solved in the equivalent Newtonian approximation of a scale invariant theory of gravitation and adapted to the stellar motions perpendicular to the galactic plane. In this framework, the problem of the age dependence of the stellar velocity dispersions in our Galaxy has to be considered in a different light.
