Massive neutrinos, it has been argued, cannot make up the dark mass in galactic halos without violating cosmological constraints on their phase space density. This argument might be weakened by allowing the neutrino distribution function to be anisotropic; the proposed anisotropic systems have density profiles showing a local minimum at the origin. Here, the dynamical stability of such "hollow halos" is investigated; some are violently unstable.
