A map of W3OH in both senses of circular polarization at 1665 and 1667 MHz is presented. We find that features with similar velocities in the two main lines are not spatially coincident. The combination of these data with recent VLBI and absolute position measurements allows constraints to be placed on the physical conditions around the compact H II region. In particular, there is insufficient radiation from this source to pump the masers, so that either they are pumped by a non-radiative process, or else there exist undetected far-infrared sources around the periphery of the compact H II region. Comparison of these data with previous 1665-MHz maps indicates that one feature is changing in frequency and probably position.
