We give a radial velocity catalogue of 169 stars belonging to a field of 2° × 2° centered on HD 87471.
The plates have been taken with the 40 cm Objective Prism of E.S.O. at La Silla and the measurements made with a correlation method at Observatoire de Haute Provence. This catalogue includes magnitudes, accurate coordinates, identifications when possible and spectral types.
We present a general radial velocity diagram showing two distinct maxima, the principal representing the cluster and the second the local group. The cluster has a radial velocity of 2.5 km s-1.
We have made a study of the distribution of starmembers in the field which shows that the cluster has a diameter larger than 52'.
In order to determine the distance modulus of NGC 3114, we have selected the probable starmembers with UBV already measured by other authors and have determined an absolute magnitude scale by calibrating the V/(B-V)0 diagram with the Sandage curve. We have found a distance of 860 pc.
