The second Cape Photographic Catalog (CPC2) will be compared to its reference star catalog, the SRS, by binning and displaying the residuals in the focal plane of the plates. Systematic errors of the x,y measurements will thus be analyzed as a function of x,y, magnitude, area in the sky, epoch and plate mapping model. A comparison to similar vector plots in photographic astrometry will be made, in particular to Schmidt plate error patterns.
