Sunspots: Velocity Fields

Scientific paper

Systematic and quasi-oscillatory components of the horizontal velocity field are studied in the polar reference system (R, Θ) relative to sunspot centers. A conclusion is made that there is only a single order of freedom of motion in the studied sunspots, that is along the vortex lines. The dependence of the velocity field peculiarities noted on R is opposite for the leading and following sunspot. Quasi-oscillations with the periods 80 - 120 m are synchronous in sunspots, entering the same active region.
