Based on the Hardee (1977) mechanism of e(+)e(-) production at the magnetic axis by high energy gamma photons, the gamma-ray emission of pulsars is discussed. The criterion for radio pulsars appearing also as gamma-ray pulsars is given. Some characteristic quantities of radiation for the candidates of gamma-ray pulsars are calculated. The calculated luminosities for Crab and Vela pulsars are in agreement with the observed values. The discussion also covers the questions: does the newly discovered sub-milli-second optical pulsar in SN1987A be a gamma-ray pulsar?
