The LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory) interferometers in Louisiana and Washington have reached their designed sensitivity levels. We are currently in the middle of an 18 month data run to search for gravitational waves at this new sensitivity. At the end of this run we plan to improve a few of the interferometer sub-systems to achieve a factor of 2-3 in sensitivity enhancement and a factor 5-10 in event rate. This talk will describe the performance of the interferometers so far and detail the improvements over the coming years.
