We present ``BiRD'', a tool for the browsing and visualisation of XMM-Newton high-resolution spectra. The dataset accessed by this utility consists of RGS spectra uniformly processed and calibrated, and fits therefore very nicely into the VO framework. The tool here described provides also additional information that can be relevant to the scientific interpretation of the data. The basic design of this tool can be applied to any set of spectroscopic data. This interface is available at the URL (http://xmm.esac.esa.int/BiRD/)
