Because of the tight correlation between the radio and infrared luminosities known to hold among star-forming galaxies, deep VLA 1.4 GHz data are expected to provide accurate and robust estimates for the total infrared luminosities of the star-forming component in high-redshift galaxies. Here, we compare the radio-derived total infrared luminosities with those derived from the Spitzer/MIPS 24 μm observations, examining the consistency/discrepancy of these two types of estimates.
