Structures expected to arrise as the result of Kelvin-Helmholtz instability of three dimensional relativistic jets are explored theoretically via the linearized fluid equations and through numerical simulations. Pressure and velocity fluctuations accompanying these structures and the observational consequences are discussed. Additional theoretical analysis of the linearized MHD equations and numerical simulations of jets as they accelerate from sub- to super-Alfvenic speeds are also presented. The implications for jet acceleration and collimation mechanisms are considered.
