We have started a serendipitous search for hard (2-10 keV) X-ray sources using data from the GIS2 instrument onboard the ASCA satellite. First results on this project are presented in Cagnoni, Della Ceca and Maccacaro, Ap.J., 493, 54. Here we present an "X-ray color analysis" of the 60 sources selected so far. This analysis allows us to study the X-ray spectral properties of serendipitous hard X-ray sources, to recognize the heavly absorbed AGNs and to compare the source's spectra with that of the CXB.
