Since its discovery during the 1985 Spacelab-2 flight, SLX 1735-269 has been found to be one of the persistent emitters of high energy X-rays in the galactic bulge. Observation with SAX of an X-ray burst has recently shown that this system contains a neutron star, contrary to some early speculation. We report here on the analysis of spectral and temporal data obtained during a 50 ksec RXTE observation of this source undertaken to further elucidate the nature of this object.
