Dual relations between cosmological solutions, including the scale-factor duality of the pre-big-bang model, are known in the context of scalar-tensor theories. These dualities can be viewed in an unified manner by embedding them in a higher dimensional space-time, i.e. they are subsequent to the multiplicity of the dimensional reduction. We follow the evolution of the cosmological perturbations in scalar-tensor cosmological models and discuss their dual relations from higher-dimensional point of view. Their cosmological implications are also discussed.
