We review the versions of Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) obtained in string theory and in gedanken experiments carried out in quantum gravity. We show how a GUP can be derived from a microblack holes-foamlike model of spacetime. The model uses only Heisenberg principle and Schwartzschild radius and is independent from particular versions of Quantum Gravity. A precise value of the numerical constant of the term modifying the old uncertainty principle is obtained. We confront this value with those obtained in other theories. On these grounds, it is interesting to speculate on string theory reinterpreted as a possible microblackhole dynamics.
