This paper examines existing data on the contents of Na, K, and rare-earth elements (REE) in chondrules from various types of chondrites, establishing basic regularities in the distribution of these elements. It was found that there are four Na-K groups of chondrules characterized by different contents of K and Na, indicating that the process of chondrule formation and metamorphism did involve Na-K fractionation. The contents and the composition of REE in individual chondrules were found to vary considerably. On the basis of correlations between the known behavioral characteristics of Na, K, and REE during the processes of condensation, melting, magmatic differentiation, and metamorphism, and the contents of REE and oxygen isotopes in various chondrules, eight genetic chondrule types were identified.
