TX Psc is one of the very few carbon stars for which spectroscopic data for nearly all of the spectrum, from the blue toward the near infrared, can be found in the literature. Here, calculations of the first synthetic spectra are presented that are in agreement with all the major spectral features in the observed spectrum, including the H(-) peak and the 3-micron band. The spectra are calculated on the basis of available observational estimates for the basic stellar parameters, and use ODF, plane-parallel, LTE model atmospheres that include absorption from diatomic molecules and from HCN, C2H2, and C3 in the opacity calculation.
