The results of OH and H20 maser observations of a complete sample of
IRAS objects with infrared colors similar to those of the coldest
circumstellar dust/gas envelopes are presented. The color sequence of
AGB stars on the IRAS color-color diagram is discussed. Evidence that
the reddest objects on the sequence are the most massive is examined.
